Adapted Sailing: The sea without limitations and within everyone's reach

The Lindley Group provides this know-how to develop inclusive infrastructures with the aim that everyone can enjoy the sea and sailing without limitations, in an accessible and safe way.

Lindley is strongly committed to the adapted sail project. Its aim is to design, manufacture and install floating infrastructures adapted to the needs of people with reduced mobility. Since 2005, Lindley has collaborated with several nautical clubs and municipalities to jointly allow the execution of these infrastructures.

In this context, stands out the 'Sailing without Limits' initiative by the Clube Naval de Cascais, in Portugal, with the support of the Cascais City Council. Together with the promoters of this initiative, Lindley developed a solution suitable for wheelchair users, equipping the pontoon with boarding and disembarkation means. The 'adapted' floating walkways are designed with a recessed freeboard, safety baseboard and protection rails, in addition to having special flotation to ensure stability and greater overload capacity.

The access bridge has a non-slip floor and an additional handrail to facilitate the movement of wheelchairs and use by people with reduced vision. The infrastructure is equipped with a portable crane equipped with a harness, a sling and an anti-fall system to allow the transfer of users to the vessels. These solutions, developed specifically for adapted sport, are available for the national and international market, allowing the creation of inclusive infrastructures so that everyone can enjoy the sea and navigation without limits and in safety.
