Regional Technical Seminar Jointly Organized by IALA-WWA and the Portuguese Lighthouse Authority – Aids to Navigation

The IALA-WWA Regional Technical Seminar, organized in partnership with the Portuguese Lighthouse Authority, is a four-day event for Portuguese-speaking African countries, aimed at strengthening the capacities of entities responsible for navigational safety and promoting Portuguese-speaking cooperation in the maritime sector. Among other topics, the seminar addresses raising awareness of coastal states’ responsibilities regarding aids to navigation, VTS, and hydrographic services; the practical implementation of IALA standards and risk analysis tools; technical exchanges between authorities; and the promotion of the use of S-100-based services and participation in IALA technical committees.
