Rehabilitation of floating pontoons of Marina Viana do Castelo (Portugal)
31-07-2017
The Administration of the Ports of Douro, Leixões, and Viana do Castelo S.A (APDL), the entity responsible for managing the Viana do Castelo Marina in Portugal, recently awarded Lindley the rehabilitation of the floating docks that receive vessels at the Doca de Montante.
The work was carried out on land, specifically at Lindley's facilities in Alcoitão. It involved the removal and replacement of all the wood components that make up the dock, including fifteen sections of walkways measuring about 12 meters each and three 12-meter access bridges. These wooden elements were replaced with high-density exotic wood. Additionally, two connecting systems between walkways were replaced. New mooring systems were supplied, and approximately 70 fingers, including new rotationally molded polyethylene floats filled with expanded polystyrene foam, were repaired. This rehabilitation work allowed for the restoration of the deteriorated infrastructure and an extension of its usable life, providing the facilities with equipment in optimal condition.
Lindley has a team of specialized technicians dedicated to providing turnkey services for the rehabilitation of floating equipment. In addition to customer advisory services, which involve conducting technical site visits to assess the current conditions of the equipment and evaluate existing constraints, Lindley prepares reports with the inspection diagnosis and a proposal for specific actions to rehabilitate the existing equipment.
